I bought this for my autistic 1 year old because he likes anything that lights up. The buttons are big and easy to push. Very educational. Each button on the "keyboard" has a corresponding picture that lights up on the "screen". My 3 year old likes to play with it because he is old enough to understand the relationship between the button and the picture. For exampe: On the keyboard there is a button with a picture of a hand on it. On the screen, in the corresponding place as the hand, there is a picture of a rattle. When you push the button the rattle will light up and it will say something like "I like to shake my rattle with my hand". I catch myself playing with it from time to time. Has 3 different play modes, a "mouse", and volume control.

My DD got this as a 1st birthday gift, she loves to open and close it and wiggle the mouse, but she quickly looses interested as the screen doesn't change, and she doesn't have a real "keypad". She has a more realistic VTECH bilingual laptop that she enjoys much more (albeit rated for ages 3 and up).

i purchased this from walmart when my son was only 4 months old. At that time, he only showed some interested, now he's 14 mo old and has still been playing with it from time to time.

He thinks it's great to watch the lights on the screen and mash the buttons. However, as more people have pointed out, the lid of this slams shut, and has on several occasions hurt his fingers. Nothing too major, but enough so that I don't leave it open for him to play with, unless I'm on the floor with him. He has had it for 3 months now, and he's just recently started to shut the lid. I would actually recommend this for 3 months and on wards. That's when our son got his and he thought it was awesome back then.
And 19.99 is still pretty expensive for this toy. You can probably get it elsewhere for around 10-15 dollars.

My son got this as a gift at around 4 months old. After hours of screaming while we were out of town meeting family for dinner, he instantly stopped when this got turned on, and proceeded to stare at it for the next hour of dinner and start of the drive home until he fell asleep (of course at that point I had to keep turning the music back on, but hey, can't argue with quiet!). He went through a phase where he just kept shutting the lid, which seemed to be great fun for him (although it was several months until he could also OPEN the lid too). He also went through a phase of trying his best to bend the lid all the way backwards, which I think is what finally did it in. Now that he's a year, it still works great MOST of the time. Once in a while it starts sounding like a broken record, it just gets stuck in a loop. My guess is that in the bending it backwards process, he loosened a wire or something. Like I said, most of the time it still works great, it still holds his attention. You've got to figure no matter how durable something is, after 8 months of banging, drooling in, chewing on, and bending backwards, just about anything's going to have problems! Also, battery life it pretty good. Haven't had to change them yet.
