 "Replacing the volume tab." 2010-01-10
By MaeQueen (Austin, TX)
Ok, the VTech phone is wonderful, and yes, if you pull the little tab above the battery compartment (directly above the screw that secures the battery compartment plate), the volume will decrease to a mere whisper.

SOLUTION: Take an old plastic laminated card. Remove the battery cover. Cut a tiny piece, about 1/2 in long and almost 1/4 in wide. Push it into the slot with the phone on. Press a button on the front to hear the volume. As you push the plastic tab down into the slot, when the sound gets louder, volia! Cut any part of the tab that sticks up past the phone. Use a piece of tape to secure it in place. Close the cover, and you're done.

I hope this helps decrease anyone's frustration. I also went onto VTechkids.com and registered a complaint. After all, if they're so eager to take our money, they should be able to provide proper customer support. Just posting Customer Reviews doesn't solve the problem.

Happy 2010!

 "Disappoointed, too." 2009-12-03
By AThriftyMom (Chicago)
We are surprised that V-tech chose to use such an irritating voice-over and that the words seem mechanical and pieced together. Lights and sounds are very nice touches. It's also nice that they included foreign languages. It would have been even nicer if the accents of the foreign pronunciations were more authentic instead of Americanized.

 "Easy to use" 2009-11-24
By Terric
My daughter loves this toy!! She is 9 months old, so I don't know the educational value of it yet. She loves the flashing colors, and it is easy for her to push the buttons. Her grandparents don't live nearby, so she learns to hear grandma and grandpa as names of people. It has Spanish/French hello and good-bye. She can crawl and push it around with her. Easy to handle and she loves to chew on the small "antenna".

"baby loves loves loves this" 2009-11-23
By Brandi Bratcher (Kansas)
My baby has an obsession with cell phones. She knows that mommy, daddy, and the grandparents talk on them a lot and sometimes she gets to hear their voices out of them. She is always trying to take our phones from us so what better toy to get her than her own? All of the other phones we've bought haven't "talked" very long. This toy has conversations and tells the baby to "call mommy" "call daddy" "call grandma" & "call grandpa". It teaches numbers, shapes, colors, abc's. It lights up and flashes. My daughter is amazed by it and it keeps her occupied where she bores of other toys. Highly recommended if you have a baby that is facinated with your phone.
