Bought this for my 9 year old son-he is in the 3rd grade. I was a bit nervous because I didn't know if he would like it or not. He does like it and uses it a lot. He likes to challenge himself and check his scores. The added benefit of this "toy" is that it resembles a hand-held video game, so he doesn't feel that it is too babyish or to "educational."

We don't let our kids play with many electronic games, but this one is a great tool for my 12 and 10 year old to master basic math skills in a fun way.
There are nights I find my daughter play the game under the covers with a head lamp.

This is a great tool, but if you have a child who's already used hand-held playstations, they might not be impressed by this. My eight-year-old son was "over it" after about 5 minutes, but it's no big deal because I have him to practice with it on the way to school and as we wait in the car pool line. It's certainly more convenient than flashcards!

The whole family is having fun exercising their brain and going to new levels with the Flashmaster. My 12, 9 and twin 6 year olds are using it every day to improve their math skills and get the basics down. It is a serious toy that challenges you and you don't have to worry about all the extras because there are none! Kids love to learn and you don't always have to get them something cute or pink or full of characters and such to have them get caught up in learning. Kids love to learn more than some adults so be confident when you choose this learning tool and treat it as a valuable tool and share it with your friends (not literally) so they will purchase their own. I have been asked to lend it out but I will not . . . we hate to be without it!

The kids were amazed and excited to see the FlashMaster. They utilize them in school and now they have one for their
