Bought this toy for my 9-month old. He's is not too interested in it but I do like that it plays various songs which I sing to him. Maybe it's me, but I do find the voice on this quite annoying but it may not bother others. Also, I cut the strong off of mine immediately - not sure why V-Tech would have a string on a child's toy. Overall, not too bad and it seems durable.

Girls like to play with rolling cars too, but this does much more than that! They like to pound too, and when they do, they hear fun things. This is a nice toy. My two grandaughters love this!

We received this toy as a gift for our 12 month old boy. It worked great for a while but then we lost the sound.
I took it apart and found a wire had come loose from the speaker, and reattached the wire with a soldering iron. A couple of the wires inside had been pinched between the two pieces of the body, breaking the coating of the wire, but otherwise did not seem to affect the function of the toy. I only mention this to point out the questionable assembly done at the factory, probably somewhere in China.
Anyway, while putting the toy back together, I set it on a table upside down, with the nails facing downward, as all the screws are on the bottom. This pushed in all four nails, revealing a design flaw. If all four nails are locked down, there is no button to push to release them. I first took it apart again to release them, but studied the spring loaded mechanism while it was apart. The only real solution without taking it apart is to use force to trigger the spring mechanism. If you slam the toy down on your knees or lap (a hard surface may break something else) with the go/stop buttons and wheel facing downward, the spring mechanism should trigger releasing the nails. I guess you can start softly and get harder until it releases.
Its hard to recommend this toy with these issues, but when it works, my son likes it.

The toy is very friendly for my 9month old grandson. He banged on it most of the day Christmas. The hammer is easy for him to hold.

We viewed this toy online and I thought the nails went down, but then I saw it in a store and saw that they don't. You just hit it with the hammer and they make a noise. I was looking for something that actually nailed. It's not bad though. It is smaller for the little ones so that is a plus and they can pull it around. Again, just depends on what you are looking for. Not sure it's worth what they are asking either. K-Mart had them for 10 bucks. I ended up going with another brand that actually nailed some.
