 "Dora The Explorer" 2010-03-11

My granddaughter(4yrs old) fell in love with this product I purchased on Amazon for her Birthday.

Dora is her favorite character, everything is Dora to her. It was amazing watching her put the cartridge in the machine and play the game, it kept her busy for a few hours.Everytime she visits me she want to play her Dora game.. This is one off the best learning tools ever.

My 3-year-old daughter enjoys the game. It will take her a while to be able to maneuver character jumping and walking, but she enjoys practicing.

"Good idea , poor execution" 2009-06-27
By Moses (Trinidad , W. Indies)
Prior to purchasing I was hesitant as I successfully use Leapfrog products a lot to teach my kids with no issues.I decided to give the V motion and this game a try .

I was disappointed. The accuracy of the game is not where I would like in assessing the kids. The game is problematic to manoeuvre in Motion control mode.It is difficult for my child to give the correct answer which she would have when she has to battle in getting the character to move where she likes. At one point she even began to scream at Dora out of frustration as the controllers response did not match with what she tried to do.

These games need some more substance before they can be properly branded for learning.

I purchased this item for my granddaughter who is 2 1/2 years of age. My daughter-in-law has told me that although she likes the toy it is not a toy she is able to maneuver efficiently on her own. Although she is very smart and very verbal we feel that she will be able to enjoy this toy when she will have mastered the mechanisms on a independent basis.
