 "Great Entertainment!" 2009-07-26
By Kelly Shire (Southern California)
I bought this for my son when he turned 4, to use with his 6-year-old sister. It was pretty much an instant hit -- they both quickly learned how to send the e-cards to each other, and the drawings that each made on the little screen.

His sister is now 7, and he's nearly 5, and they still play with it. We take it on road trips in the car, it's perfect for them. Granted, there was a bit of time to learn how to play the games -- he was resistant to that at first, but eventually picked most of them up. I do agree that this is better suited to ages 4-5 on up, versus the recommended age of 3. It would be wasted as a birthday gift for a 2-year-old turning 3, for example. They don't yet have the fine motor skills or letter/number abilities for the games.

This toy is also quite resilient & durable, and the little eraser for the drawings looks fragile, but has held up to many, many drawings & erasings. All in all, a fun electronic toy for a good price, that has held up in quality and interest level for my 2 easily-bored kids.

"Entertaining and Creative Toy !!" 2009-01-08

This is a wonderful toy. My grandchildren love it. They can create pictures, e-mail them to each other as well as play games. My granddaughters are 4 and 5 years old and they play with it every day!

"Fun for older kids, NOT for 3 year-olds!" 2008-12-30
By K B
The age recommendation for this toy is 3+, but it is more suited to children 5+. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my (almost) three year-old son, and am disappointed by the lack of age-appropriate games and activities on it (most of which require counting above ten, spelling, good fine motor skills, and basic computer skills). That said, it IS a fun toy for older kids and adults to play with, and has held up well in the week that we've been playing with it!

My 6 1/2 yr old twin girls received this for Christmas this year & it's been a favorite since! They love the interaction they have with each other and I foresee lots of hours of fun with it!

 "This toy doesn't work" 2008-12-24
By Hilary P (Scarsdale, NY United States)
I bought the kididoodle for my 3 1/2 year old twin boys, figuring it would be a perfect toy for them to play together while my older daughter played on her leapster. The recommended age for this product is 3. It comes in a pack of two. Although it came with batteries, the batteries were dead, so after opening up the present for Hannukah, I had to run out and buy batteries.

I put the batteries in while my boys anxiously awaited the game consoles. One of them just never worked. I re-opened the battery compartment (luckily it didn't have the annoying screws that most have, although surprised it didn't since it's designed for little kids). Put different batteries in and it STILL didn't work.

One of my boys tried to play on the other console. He tried to draw but it was hard to get him to press the button on the stylus while drawing (a problem people have complained of on items like the Leapster).

When he did draw, the computer screen drawing is so pixilated, you can't even tell what it is. The games were way too advanced (something I usually wouldn't complain about), but I was trying to get my 3 year old to play a version of brick breaker, explaining he needed to move the pen to make the paddle move. It was a mess. Plus, there are 10 games, but they don't explain how to get from one game to another in the directions.

I'm waiting until 8:00 tomorrow to call V-tech to see why the console doesn't work. In the meantime, I just ordered another leapster for them to share (that should go over well.... NOT!)

Save your money.... I'm so disappointed. As are my twins who were so excited to open this Hannukah gift just to see it go back in the box....
