Given that the clickstart mouse is such a nightmare, there is one game on this cartridge that uses the arrow keys and space bar exclusively--which is wonderful for my son who gets easily frustrated with the mouse. The Wacky Funhouse ALONE is worth the price of this cartridge. It is awesome. It's similar to the old Mario Brothers games where they run, hop, jump, and move from level to level avoiding some things while capturing others. My son is under 3 and has mastered this game and loves it. LOVES IT!!

This disc has 2 mouse games and 1 arrow key game.

It is probably a next level game. It seems ok, but either my child isn't ready for it, or it is boring.

I personally think it is a bit boring compared to the others.

If you are not planning on owning all of the clickstart games then I would skip this one. I feel like it is similar to other games on the system as far as learning letters and it is another mouse game. I would return this if I had bought it at a store but that's just because I can tell it will sit in the back of the tray and not get used that often compared to the other games.

I bought this software for my granddaughter because I found that the software that is preinstalled with the ClickStart was too babyish for her. I carefully reviewed the softwares for this computer and I felt she would enjoy Learning Carnival. It is alot of fun and she prefers it to the installed software. The reason I rated it four stars is because it's not as challenging as I hoped it would be. However, she really does enjoy it and it's alot of fun. I would recommend it.

The video games from Click Start Leap Frog are fun, educational and durable. They make learning for my 4 year old pre-schooler fun. He uses the system all by himself, from putting the games into and pulling them out of the system, to running the mouse, arrows and other keyboard functions. He's better at the "computer" than I am! We have 7 of the games, which encompasses most of the Click Start line, and he enjoys all of them, but Diego is his favorite. I like that they have 2 levels of play, which make it harder for him as he gets better. All in all, a great product, and I recommend it for all parents of a young pre-school aged child.

My son just turned three and has been using his Click Start for about a year now. We absolutely love the Click Start system, but are not so fond of this game. He's played it four times since getting it last month, and has lost interest. It would be fantastic for a beginner, or as a first game for the Click Start. My son has the Diego game and that one seems to teach the same things in a more fun, more educational manner. With the Bob the Builder, even on level 2, the games don't take long to master and to get old. Each mode teaches something different, whether it's letters or numbers, or learning how to use the mouse and arrow keys. Once your child knows how to move the arrows back and forth and click on something, however, they've pretty much exhausted this game. Unless your child is just starting out with the Click Start, or is a huge bob the builder fan, I would recommend the Diego game instead for learning letters, numbers and use of the keyboard and mouse.

My son recieved this game for his 3rd b.day a few months ago and he just loves it! He can have muck catch letters that bob throws down to him, he can put colored shapes onto a blueprint to help build a building, and have one of the characters go along a maze to get letters. We bought him the system last christmas when he was about 2 and1/2 with the animal art studio. Since he was a little young for it I thought that game would be the best for him at that time and he could do 2 of the 3 games on it. This system is great! Just wish it was cheaper!

I purchased the Leapfrog Clickstart and 5 of the games/software that works with this system at Christmas for my 3 year old. Not only am I completely satisfied with the Leapfrog ClickStart but the games offer both fun and challenges that keep my 3 happy and occupied.



The game she likes the most is the Animal Art Studio. It allows her to creatively mix and match animals..put an elephant head on a lion body, easily add trees and water, grass and then the screen animates and her made up animals move across the grass, drink from the pools and frolic around as she giggles with delight. It also has a color program and a host of activities that with music and sound that keep her coming back again and again.



This is a wonderful game and I highly recommend it for any 3 to 5 year old and definite must have for the Clickstart.

My son just turned 3, and has had his Click Start for one year now. We got this game about the same time we learned about the Nick Jr. website, and while this game is cute, I like the website better. The website is filled with free games, coloring "books" and other musical and crafty ideas for kids. They also change the games/coloring "books" every few weeks, so there's almost always something new and interesting. My son has run out of things to do with this particular Click Start game and prefers the website now, so from my experience I'd recommend this one for beginners, or for kids without access to a computer.

Note: All of the information below refers to "level 1" games.



My daughters (2.5 years old and 3.5 years old) love Go, Diego, Go! so it was an easy decision to buy this game. I don't know if my kids are weird, but their mouse skills are much better than their ability to navigate quickly with the keyboard. As many have pointed out, there are six games. Three of them require using the arrow keys to make Diego go in different directions, and he is also required to jump (space bar) and move (arrow key) at the same time. Thus far, this is beyond my girls. They still choose to play this game, but I need to be there the entire time, helping, and even still, they get bored and/or frustrated, and we've never gotten to the end of the game.



There's a "vine climb" game that also requires using the arrow keys to move Diego from one vine to another as he must get the leaf with a specific letter on it. Ideally, he would move away from the leaves with the wrong letter on them, too. The leaves move very quickly. Even when *I* play the game, I have to work fast to get the right letters. Way beyond them.



One game, the bridge game, involves using the mouse. This is the game that my daughters can play by themselves, and all I have to do is cheer them on. There's no time limit or independently moving parts. [thumb up]



The last game involves penguins with numbers on them, and you have to push the number on the keyboard to make a particular penguin jump into the water. Although my girls aren't that great at this game yet, I can see that they can get it soon. Unlike the "vine climb" where the leaves move quickly, in the penguin dive, the penguins just sit there for however long it takes the child to find the number on the keyboard.



I'm not sorry that we bought the game. They do like getting to make Diego do things (even if those things don't result in completing the tasks/games). If you're buying it for a 3 year old, you might want to let go of the idea that they'll play the games "the right way" and just let them fool around with it.



I don't see the Cars game listed here at amazon.com, but I bought that one in a store, and my girls can play all of those games. If your kids like Lightening McQueen, perhaps get that game as one a 3 year old can play (if they're good with the mouse!)

I should have known better; I bought her a Vsmile video game thing on her (4th) birthday and she didn't like it either. She would rather play with her dress up clothes, barbies, and baby dolls. She doesn't really play with the clickstart system at all. Her friends like it and her baby brother play with it and they seem to enjoy it. It didn't really fit my daughter's playing style but her baby brother and friends like to play with it so I would recommend this game and the click start system to other parents. I also bought a dora game for the clickstart; the other children seem to prefer the backyardigans over the dora game.

Although I'm not sure how much educational content is present in this cartridge, my daughter has enjoyed playing it. I'd give it a slightly above-average level of replayability, i.e. she didn't lose interest in it immediately, but it didn't last as long as some of the other cartridges she has, like the Dora one. She did become a ninja for a few weeks, saying, "Hai-ya!" and karate-kicking her way around the house...

If you own the click start and other games, you might not be impressed with this one. I'm kind of anti-game systems for young kids, but agreed to get this one since the controller was a keyboard. We have the Thomas and the Cars games and love both of them as well as the buit-in games. The Toy Story game, however, doesn't use the keyboard, just the arrows. You control the characters by jumping/running to get items. Granted, you are looking for specific shapes, numbers, colors, or whatever, but it's more like a traditional video game. My husband and I even have trouble controlling the characters.

Our daughter, 3, absolutely loves this game. She got it for Christmas about two months before her 3rd birthday and had no trouble using it. We purchased the system because there was a Toy Story Game available since it is her favorite Disney movie. Some of the other reviews talk about the simplistic graphics, but I actually think that is a good thing for the younger kids. It is a simple game that is easy for toddlers to grasp. A great introduction to video games and has educational value as well.

Perhaps it's that the rest of us--dad, mom, and fourteen-year-old brother--have had years of playing video games with better complexity and far better graphics, but I'm not wowed by any of the Clickstart games. Yes, I know, they're for young children, but even the web-based games for toddlers have better graphics and are sometimes more user-friendly.



That said, my three-year-old does like the Clickstart, and is able to navigate it without help. The Toy Story game isn't all that impressive, for the money, but that's a complaint I have about Clickstart cartridges in general. She enjoys being able to manipulate the familiar characters, and is building some directional skills. Except for the opening sequence with Zurg, however, the characters bring little of the flavor of the movie to the play of the game, and they could easily be any other sprite.

My son loves it. He is a Toy Story fan, so I was sure that he was going to love it. He plays it a lot. The only issue for a 3-year old kid is that it is kind of difficult to play certain stages of the game with the mouse, but I am sure the older he will get, the easier to play it will become for him.
