This is a nice viewmaster, but there aren't any view master disks sold at nearby stores like Target or Walmart. You almost have to purchase them online, and pay for shipping. They are a bit pricey, but for the money, they are almost worth it. My sons loves the African Jungles one. He enjoys it a lot. We use it right before bedtime, in lieu of a read aloud. He is 3 years old and loves the idea of a projector on his bedroom walls. It's great for boys!

I bought this toy as a Christmas gift for my 3 and 4 year old daughters. They love it and I happen to think it is pretty cool, too! It has become part of our bedtime routine. Every night at bedtime we pick our "movie" and the girls lay quietly listening to the "story". The projector comes with only one demo reel, so you must purchase others separately. I recommend the Discovery Channel reels-I only wish they had more to choose from. The thing that makes this toy cool is that it projects the images on the ceiling (or wall) and if you buy the reels that have sounds, you will hear several interesting facts as the pictures are displayed. You can choose to have the projector automatically advance to the next picture, or you can do it manually. All in all a great toy with some educational value and a great way to get the kids settled into bed.

I would LOVE to buy this toy for my 3-year-old, but upon looking, it appears there are only a handful of reels available with sounds. If I could find a nice selection of reels, I wouldn't hesitate. But make sure you know what you're getting -- this toy is somewhat expensive to have such limited use.

I bought this for my nephews 2nd birthday. He really likes it. It only came with a demo reel so we will have to get more reels and then im sure he will enjoy it even more. We use it mostly at night because it has to be pretty dark in the room to see it well. He has always liked looking at pictures so he really likes it because it puts the pictures on the wall and ceiling.

What a wonderful educational toy for kids. This view master with it exceptional images and sounds just captivates my 3-year old grandsons attention. On the negative side, there just are not enough 3d sound reels. I wish Discovery made more educational reels.
