On the product website it says "Product Dimensions: 8 x 2 x 10 inches ; 1 pounds". This is a complete lie, the toys screen is about 1 inch across and the whole toy is about 2 inches big. Im sure they came to this number by measuring the packaging which is about 8 x 2 x 10 inches but they are trying to trick people in to thinking they are getting a big toy when it probably would fit on a key chain.

The only good thing about it is it shows Pooh, my baby instantly recognizes Pooh, but that's the end of it. I'm hoping she'd be more interested in it in the next months since she's only 1.5 y/o.



My advice - don't get an extra cartridge yet because the one that comes with it (LEARN AND DISCOVER HOME) is probably the best. Initially you might be thinking (as I did) that since it comes free with the toy, that it might be boring. NOT THE CASE AT ALL.



The lowest mark is probably the music. It can't attract my baby, it's a little boring. When she's older, I hope she'd take notice of the games. The games are like, really also boring and hard to understand for smaller babies, compared to LEARN AND DISCOVER HOME.

I can say that I was disappointed by the lack of response by both of my boys when it came to the V Tech system. I thought that the V.Smile baby would be a big draw. I also bought the V Tech bigger kid version for my more "advanced" twin. It's not as easy as it seems and the babies don't always get the correlation between the TV and the system. It's a challenge, but hopefully they will learn to love it.

My daughter received this for Christmas along with 4 additional cartridges. She loves it, but it simply stopped working today. A couple of the cartridges work sometimes, but definitely not enough to keep the product. I called VTech and their customer service seems great. They don't have anymore VTech Create-A-Story consoles, but are sending me one replacement cartridge to test. If it doesn't work, I've been told they'll give me a credit and that I just need to return the product. The only downside is that I have to pay shipping to return the product.

I purchased the create-a-story as a requirement for my son's daycare center. He is 3 years old and this is one of the learning tools they use at his school. Being that he recently turned 3 it is kind of hard to keep his attention because he wants to use the pen to point at the objects he wants to point at rather than what the book is telling him to point at. If he was a little more mature (maybe 4 or 5), this is a great learning tool. I don't get a chance to actually see him use it in school but all of the children have them so hopefully he follows instructions a little better than he did at home.

I ordered this in hope of cutting down on batteries like most people. What I received in the mail was a package that came with just the wall adapter and no car jack. I plugged the adapter into the DIDJ and the power came on then the second you move the toy, no power. After a few times of doing this the DIDJ will tell you to hook up to your computer for a tune up. The DIDJ will not work until you do this. When hooked up to the computer it downloads updated files and then tells you to go ahead and eject your DIDJ, that you can now play.

After all that we tried to plug in the adapter again only to go through that trouble again.

As far a the DIDJ leapster, that handheld is great and my daughter loves it, that I would recommend.

This plug I would not buy if you intend on using it for the DIDJ leapster, it just doesn't work with it.

thats about it... it did not really do a very good job of capturing my sons attention. He really wanted one for chrismas, it mostly sits around. I bought this as a birthday present for my 1-year old daughter. Although it came with batteries, I had to replace them right away. I thought, oh, maybe it was a demo or got played with in a store, no big deal. The next day, the batteries were dead AGAIN. The toy wouldn't even turn on. Replaced the batteries TWICE more (with brand-new batteries every time) before giving up entirely. Worse, Amazon will only give me a partial refund because I bought it a month before my daughter's birthday (I like to be prepared!), so it was past the return date. And the manufacturer is in CANADA, and I don't want to pay outrageous shipping just to return a broken toy. If my experience is any indication, this product is cheap and poorly made. Such a shame - it's really a great concept.

I asked for this for my daughter for Christmas. Based on the fact that I thought that it spoke the three labled languages on the keyboard, ( English French and Spanish)I am very disapointed. Look closely at the keyboard and there are three stickers that the manual shows as tempoary, they say "English, French and Spanish" Yet I havent been able to figure out what it refers to, I don't hear any kind of spoken language from the toy and the booklet dosen't say anything. I guess the company is counting on the fact that I was in the store with my screaming kids, trying to rush and find something good. You see music, language, building-what a great toy. Then you play with it and see its limits and are disapointed. The music is ok and its neat that you can change the sound/ song ect. with the different blocks. I am sure there are more toys out there that play better music/ more variety.

If you still like it, don't pay the 30/40 dollars. I saw it at Toys r us right before christmas for $10.
