 "LeapPad cd's" 2010-02-08
By Christine A. Meakin
I purchased this program for my granddaughter. She acquired a LeapPad a couple of years ago with only one CD. As she is now in kindergarten, I felt this would be a great tool for her education. I searched Amazon.com for the product as this version of the LeapPad software is now obsolete. I was extremely happy to find three different products that met my needs and I purchased all three.

 "Counting On Pooh" 2007-01-27
By M. Norton (merritt island, florida United States)
What a great way to teach little one how to count. Not only does it help with reading comprehension, it helps little one with number recongnition, social skills (Pooh is so polite) and helps with memory. My little one started with the leap frog products we're up to the quantum now and he still likes to get one of the younger books out just cause the stories are so cute and lots of fun.

It's a book filled with Pooh, Tigger and all the friends from the 100 acre woods. Learning last a lifetime, so get them started with fun friends from Leap Frog.

"Great Book but Unfriendly page-binding" 2006-03-02
By M. Sookhoo (Trinidad)
Bought this for my 3 year old daughter who really uses it a lot daily. The level of edutainment is excellent for her age and she learns a lot from it. My only sore point with it is the lack of strength of the perforated part of the pages (for the spiral binding). The pages tend to be separated there so I think it will be a good idea to strenghten the perforated part of the book or to use some other form of binding that will not decrease the overall strength.

"Count to 10 with Lots and Lots of Honeypots!" 2005-07-05
By History_of_Art_Geek (Phoenix, AZ)
Lots and Lots of Honeypots was one of the first LeapPad books my son received, so it's clocked in a good many hours of play. The story is straightforward, and easy for young preschoolers to grasp. Although, it's the games that really occupy my boy. There's loads of praise for the right answers, and a repeat of the question when answered incorrectly. I like this aspect of play, as it encourages learning. The activities challenge children to listen to instruction, recognize items, and follow through by touching the pictures on the pages.

It's difficult to get a 3-year old to listen for any great length of time, but this toy promotes listening, and focus. That alone deserves a decent rating from me. I recommend this book for children 3 and up, but caution parents that it may require some supervision. The GO button must be touched every time you turn the page, so the LeapPad can identify the page. This alone may cause frustration. The pages are sturdy; yet, little ones may get over anxious and crinkle the pages, or worse, tare them off the binding. I've repaired a few pages with tape, but it's not desirable.

I don't have any complaints about Lots and Lots of Honeypots; however, I've discerned over 6-months time that these books are mastered quickly. If there were more pages per books with progressive learning I wouldn't cringe so much at the price tag. Overall, I'm satisfied with the content of this book. I recommend it for young children who haven't mastered counting to 10.

 "An enduring favourite" 2004-07-15
By
My 4 yr old got this last christmas together with a few other titles. It's definitely his favourite and still keeps him occupied. There are nice counting and matching games and rhymes. It's pages are more interactive (more things to point to) than many other titles. Pooh's pronounciation makes him a little hard to understand at the beginning.

What could be better than talking to Pooh? The Call 'n Learn Phone encourages role play with telephone calls to baby?s beloved friend Winnie the Pooh, while teaching colors, numbers and shapes. The roller in the display area initiates the different learning modes as baby scrolls through the cute pictures of Pooh. A light-up antenna dipped in honey, of course, and a favorite Pooh song encourage baby to play and learn.

I like the toy except for the Winnie and The Honeycomb are very hard. My child hit herself in the head with it when she first got it. I just wish that they could have been softer. The volume could be louder too.

 "Great Toy!" 2009-02-28
By Elizabeth Bolton
I bought this toy for my neice's 1st birthday. I am a Winnie the Pooh nut, so everything I buy her is Winnie the Pooh. But she absolutely loves it. Her mom keeps it in the car for her to play with. She says she doesn't want to put it down. I have so much faith in the toy I am buying two more, one for my neighbors little girl who likes Winnie the Pooh and one for me so I can add it to my Winnie the Pooh collection for our future child.

 "Great Car Toy" 2009-01-02
By R. A. Bailey (Fort Walton Beach, FL USA)
8mths after we got it this is *still* one of our 13mth old daughter's favorite toys. She loves "talking" to the different characters and has recently (w/in last month) begun to change the modes on her own. This is one of our "Ace in the hole - sure fire" car toys to entertain her (& we travel A LOT). Ours is from Target and have never had any volume issues at all - in fact sometimes it can be too loud - and we never replaced the batteries so big plue there too!

 "Great toy!" 2008-12-28
By sundowner2
My little guy got this as a gift when he was 6 months old. He's now 14 months, and plays with it everytime he's in the car. It's also a favorite toy of his same age cousin. Ours came from Target, and we've never had volume problems like the other reviews mentioned. This phone has been played with so much, and holds his attention so well, I just had to write a review when I saw that it wasn't rated very highly!

"One of the best Tag jr Books" 2010-02-14
By Avid Reader
This book seems to have A LOT more activities than most of the other books we own, and we have 11 of them. This one is always downloaded into our Tag Jr. This one has the most stuff on the page and different sayings. Ni Hao Kilan (sp?) has more songs and music than the rest which is great. Cars is actually kind of disappointing. The Dr Seuss Mr Brown is a good one too.

My 2 1/2 yr old LOVES her Tag Jr. It is played with mulitple times a day for 2 months now with no end insight.

"This is my Favorite so Far" 2009-08-24
By J. Goldthwaite (Seabrook, NH United States)
My son is (almost) a year old, and after seeing the Tag Jr. System I knew I had to get it for him, though he's still a bit young for it. I'm amazed at what TAG Jr. does for the price, it's very durable scanner with voice and interactivty for $35 and I got mine with coupon at a B&M store for $25.

The Pooh book is read by a pleasent sounding lady, and when you touch any of the charactors it plays clips in their voices. Pooh sounds like Pooh, Tigger sounds like Tigger, Eyore sounds like Eyore, etc.

There is music and it asks you to find things, like "Find all the pictures of Rabbit in this book".

I like that the Book is an actual board book, it doesn't have any electronics in it. All of the electronics are in the reader, the book is printed with a hardly noticable bar code like pattern that the reader uses to access stored info.

 "DO NOT BELIEVE LEAPFROG!!" 2009-06-30

Do not believe Leap Frog!! The Tag Reader can not utilize the Tag Jr. books. They think they will have a patch in mid July. Don't buy yet if you want to use with the Tag Reader. Very disappointing.
