nice basic robot kit. goes together easily. this requires quite a bit of direct sunlight in order to function. it was amusing to the kids for almost two days.

We just got the little hopper yesterday evening. Assembly was quick and painless. He wouldn't put on a show in the low evening sunlight, but preformed very well at 2:30 this afternoon. Also whirled when placed close under our brighter house lights. Not sure about durablity yet, although it's rather small, and the wirey pieces are thin. I'm sure if cared for, it will last alright. Might not last so long in the hands of younger kids. My boys were glad to have a toy that was powered by the sun :o) It piqued their interest in pv, thus relatively educational. It was fun watch it dance!!!

I would recommend this kit. It's easy to put it together, it works and it's educational. We used a flashlight to get the bug jittering.

Bought this for my son's sixth birthday. I assembled the mini-robot...we placed it in the sun and nothing....does not work. A great idea; very poorly made.
